The III Summer Youth Olympics 2018 opening ceremony held on October 6, 2018. While the closing ceremony scheduled for October 18, 2018. Also, the first Olympic games which held outside Asia.
Games ongoing in Buenos Aries. Athletes of age between 15 to 18 from more than 200 countries are participating in this Olympics. Moreover, new sports like Kiteboarding, BMX Freestyle Park and a version of handball played at a beach are introduced for this years’ Olympics.
Medal details of Summer Youth Olympics
India bagged two silver medals at youth Olympics. The winning happened on the day of the opening ceremony of Youth Olympics. Tushar Mane and Tababi Devi both won the silver medals in shooting and judo respectively.
A 16-year-old Tangjam Tababi Devi, Manipur, known as the first Indian athlete to win a medal in judo at Olympics. She lost in finals at women’s 44 kg category to Maria Giminez, Venezuela.
The final game lasted for 2 minutes and she lost 0-11. While in semifinals she won the game with 10-0 and beat Ana Viktorija.
16-year-old Tushar Mane, Kholapur is the first athlete to give India a medal in 2018 Summer Olympics. He bagged a silver medal in men’s 10 m air rifle with a score of 247.5. While Grigorii Shamakov from Russia won Gold medal with a score of 249.2. Mane lost gold in margin difference.

Currently, 46 athletes are representing in 13 different sports from India. Also, till now India bagged two medals. While in 2014, Youth Olympics India won one silver and one Bronze. Now, this year we have to see how many medals will be added to medal tally.
