OnePlus has teased an image related to OnePlus 6T. The poster shows an in-display fingerprint sensor. The poster also shows October 17, which is (most probably) the launch date of OnePlus 6T. The poster also mentions the time 11:00.

The in-display fingerprint is a good news for those users who want fingerprint sensor on the front side of the smartphone. We have heard many complains regarding rear fingerprint sensors. Most of the complains are for the position/placement of the rear fingerprint sensor. Some smartphone manufacturers have placed the fingerprint sensors at wrong positions, which became a problem for many users.

Some users with small hands often complain about rear facing fingerprint sensor.

Also, it’s not possible to unlock a smartphone (resting on table) using rear fingerprint sensor without picking up the smartphone. The in-display fingerprint sensor will solve this problem. However, the smartphone will become a little bit thicker (due to the in-display fingerprint sensor). However, that increased thickness might be negligible.

Also, the in-display fingerprint sensor is not as fast as the normal ones. But it’s advantage is more. According to reports, OnePlus was planning to add in-display fingerprint sensor in OnePlus 5T, but the technology was not mature enough, so they decided to skip it.

According to some leaks, the OnePlus 6T will have a water-drop notch. This will help the company to increase the screen-to-body ratio. However, a chin is present at the bottom of the smartphone. The smartphone will have the glass sandwich design similar to OnePlus 6.

OnePlus 6T is expected to come with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which is found on One Plus 6. Let’s see whether One Plus is able to surprise everybody by launching the smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (next flagship chip from Qualcomm). The company might launch a 512 GB variant of the smartphone, which will be a good move as recent model doesn’t offer a MicroSD card slot.
