“The Momo Challenge” is the new suicidal game after the blue whale challenge. These game have already led many teenagers to commit suicide. The Momo challenge, viral on social media platforms.

Eyes bulge out of their sockets, a distorted smile stretches out over a gaunt, pale face and underneath black hair is a grotesque mixture of human and animal parts. The horrifying character is known as Momo and is a part of a disturbing viral challenge where kids are dared to message the character on WhatsApp.

What is Momo Challenge ?

Facebook started this challenge were members were “challenged” to talk to unknown numbers, The Sun reported.

Once you start talking there are different sets of activities and challenges are given to perform to meet “MOMO”. This encourage children to take up challenges which end up in suicide. If the user refuses to take orders, momo sends threating violent images. The Sun reported.

Deaths linked to Momo Challenge

The Argentina Police are linking the death of a 12-year-old to the game. The girl filmed her activities immediately prior to the suicide on her phone. Authorities suspect someone encouraged her to take her own life, the Buenos Aires Times reported. The officials are hunting for the “adolescent with whom she exchanged those messages” and have issued a warning to the parents to monitor the browsing activity of their children.

Has the Momo Challenge reported in India?

As of now, there are no reports suggesting the presence of the challenge. As per cyber experts, the challenge is a hoax aimed at stealing personal data and extorting information.
