Honor launches Honor 8x with 6.5 inch display

Honor has launched Honor 8x, the successor of its popular mid-range smartphone Honor 7x. Let’s see what Honor has offered with this smartphone.

The smartphone has 6.5 inch display FHD+. Honor has put a Notch to achieve this display size. The display has 2340x1080p resolution. It has screen aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It has 91% screen-to-body ratio.

The dimensions of 160.4×76.6×7.8 mm. The weight of the smartphone is 175g. The smartphone will be available in Black, Blue, Red and Purple colour.

The smartphone has HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor. Kirin 710 processor is build on 12 nm design.  It is a improvement over Kirin 659 (which is present on Honor 7x). The Kirin 659 is build on 16 nm design. Honor 8x has Mali-g51 MP4 GPU.

The smartphone has three variants. The base variant has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. The second variant has 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. The highest variant has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage.

Honor has also improved the battery capacity on this smartphone. The smartphone has 3750 mAh battery. This is good as the bigger display will need more power.

Honor 8x has dual rear camera. The primary rear camera is of 20 MP resolution. The primary rear camera has f/1.8 aperture. The smartphone has secondary rear camera of 2 MP resolution for depth sensing purpose.

A single 16 MP camera is present at the front of smartphone. The front camera has f/2.0 aperture.

The smartphone runs on EMUI 8.2 on the top of Android Oreo 8.1.

The smartphone has Micro-USB port for charging and data transfer purpose. We were expecting a USB Type-C port. The smartphone has a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack, that’s a good thing.

In China, the base variant (4 GB + 64 GB) is priced at CNY 1,399 (approx Rs 14.5k). The 6 GB + 64 GB variant is priced at CNY 1,599 (approx Rs 16.7k). the highest variant (6 GB + 128 GB) variant is priced at CNY 1,899 (approx Rs 19.8k).

Honor is expected to bring Honor 8x to India soon as Honor 7x became popular in India. Let’s wait for it’s official Indian launch.
