With the expanding use of internet along with its easier access, short films have become a very common and growing aspect.

Short films tend to depict a story in a very precise manner. It needs a very less time as compared to the main stream movies. Hence, it is perfect if you are travelling somewhere or you need to refresh your mind in few minutes.

Furthermore, from the makers point of view, these movies take lesser time to be created. Also, the budget needed to create them is also very less.

Anukul.

This short film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. It is based on a Satyajit Ray’s short story and hence has an incredible plot.

Anukul is starring Saurabh Shukla and Parambrata Chatterjee.

It is a futuristic movie which showcases a world where even machines have rights.

Bypass.

This short film is directed by Amit Kumar. It stars Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Now for sure the star cast only must have given you the idea about how amazing this movie is. It is based in Rajasthan.

That day after every day.

Anurag Kashyap directed this film. It stars Sandhya Mridul, Radhika Apte, Arannya Kaur and Geetanjali Thapa. Nitin Bharadwaj wrote it.

That day after every day talks about a very serious issue in our society i.e. eve teasing. It depicts a story of three women who eventually and unfortunately suffer from eve- teasing.

Ahalya

Ahalya is a Bengali film. Sujoy Ghosh directed it. The Bengali actor, Soumitra Chatterjee, stars in this short film along with Radhika Apte.

The film is loaded with suspense, thrill and seduction. Ahalya created a buzz all over the internet from the moment it released.

Rastaa.


Digvijay Chauhan directed Rastaa. The film depicts a day from the lives of two boys, both beggars on the streets of Mumbai and their struggle for survival.

This film was screened at MAMI 2011.

Black Mirror.

The story of Ranu, a boy orphaned due to a bomb blast. Adi Burman directed this short film. The story shows the darkness of the busy city Mumbai through the struggles of the boy for survival.

That Sunday.

This short film is about a rape- victim and the confrontation she faces after this harsh incident.

That Sunday was officially shortlisted for the Cannes.
