Dharam Devdutt Pishorimal Anand or, as we commonly know him Dev Anand holds an unforgettable position in the Indian cinema.
Today, on his 95th birth anniversary, we give our heartwarm tribute to the legendary Dev Anand.
This legendary actor was born on September 26th, 1923 in Shakargarh tehsil in Punjab. He completed his schooling from Sacred Heart School, Dalhousie and went to Dharamshala for further studies.
He contributed to the Indian cinema as an actor, director, producer as well as writer. In short, he was a treasure box of cinematographic talents!
Dev Anand acted in about 116 movies during his career as an actor. Out of these, 114 were Hindi movies whereas the remaining two were in English.
Dev Anand began his acting career in the year 1946. His first movie was ‘Hum Ek Hain’. After his first debut in Bollywood, Dav Anand became an unbeatable actor of the Indian cinema. He gave several hits.
His mainstream style was romance. Dev Anand changed the meaning and style of love and romance through his unique style acting.
In his career in the film industry, which lasted for about six decades, the actor blessed the industry with numerous memorable movies such as Guide, Hum Dono, CID and many more.
Mr. Anand was a free-spirited and joyful person. He lived his life to the fullest.
Unfortunately, the iconic actor died in 2011 at an age of 88. He died by a cardiac arrest in his hotel room in The Washington Mayfair Hotel, London.
Though the actor unfortunately passed away from the world, but he will always live in the film industry and in the hearts of his fans!
